Uberlayer App Reviews
Uberlayer is great
Uberlayer became one of the apps I most use at work. It does really well what it’s supposed to do.
very useful tool for comparing layouts. Just what I was looking for. If you’re not sure it’s for you head over to the developer’s website and watch the video.
TheLeague
Needs more options and doesnt work on certain programs like League of Legends and other games.
Simple, beautiful.
The app is so simple and it’s very well designed. Does what it is suppose to do and it was flawless.
I was thinking about making an app like this myself, however, for $4, I couldn’t justify the time. This is a highly polished app and has already paid itself off after a day of use. One suggestion: It’d be nice to include a color picker so that I can grab RGB values off an image.
Percantage zoom level
I would give this app 5 starts if only it allowed to set custom zoom level - other than 50%,100%, 200% which is available.
This app fulfills my wish to have a visual comp always on screen in lock mode while I code, check in the browser, then reference design. Before I would open the comps in Preview, Fireworks, etc only to be lost behind a ton of other windows I had open. The ability to adjust the transparency is huge. I will definitely be using this everyday.
Pretty much exactly what Ive been looking for to implement designer comps. This, paired with xScope, means less time I have to spend building and running my app to get a pixel perfect design implemented. Most of my team bought it yesterday after seeing it. No complaints so far. Already saved the price of the app in the time its saved me.
Love this app, I rountinely grab screenshots and tweak in browser live to get things to match up with my designs. Would love to see full screen support added so I can drag it around in Spaces as I have multiple monitors and use Spaces frequently.
I tried another app “Overlay” first and it’s missing key features that Uberlayer has - most importatnly ability to control the scale of the overlay image. I was looking for a way to compare Mobile design concepts (comps) to actual working App screens to see if layout was correct etc. This works perfectly for this and other scenarios I have in mind.
Not what i thought it was...
I thought this was for layering photos on top of each other because this came up when i searched up photo layering.
Needs system-wide hotkeys to show/hide and adjust opacity. The image should not cover the Dock. The free GluePrint has a customizable hotkey for show/hide and does not cover the Dock.
